DeWitt Park beach and Hooker Lake launch are open to swimming after resampling by Kenosha County on Tuesday found E.coli levels within acceptable range at those locations.
The State Department of Health recommends posting warnings at beaches when test results indicate an E.coli level of 235/100mL or more and closing a beach when test results exceed E.coli 1000/100mL.
The results that prompted the openings to swimming were:
- Hooker Lake launch — 14 E.coli/100 mL
- DeWitt Park beach — 49.0 E.coli/100 mL
Paddock Hooker Lakes Association beach remains under a swim caution and is scheduled to be resampled Wednesday.
