Town of Wheatland Fire Department Chief Lou Denko has issued a burn ban effective immediately (Monday).
“This is a ban on any burning until further notice when conditions change and we get adequate rainfall,” Denko said in the announcement of the ban.
Speaking at a Town Board meeting Monday evening, Denko acknowledged that most are fire departments have also enacted such bans.
“We just ask people to be patient,” Denko said.
