The Twin Lakes Village Board reviewed four sites under consideration for a new village hall at Monday’s regular board meeting.
Jon Wallenkamp, an architect with Kueny Architects, LLC gave a presentation on the following sites (graphic above description of each site):

- Next to the current police station on Lance Drive. The village would not have to purchase land to pursue this option.

- Across Main Street from the current village hall. This design would demolish the current building and use that site for parking. Wallenkamp said the village has a contingent offer in on this land.

- In a currently natural area of Lance Park, just west of the park’s parking lot. This site would add minimal parking due to the existing adjacent parking. A future component of this site could be the development of a natural bowl into an outdoor amphitheater. This site also would not require purchasing land.

- Along Bassett Street downtown between a commercial/residential building and Central Park.
Wallenkamp said current rough plans call for a two-level building on any of these sites, with one level housing village functions and the other a community room, with each floor being about 6,000 square feet. Any of the buildings would include an elevator.
“All the sites will work,” Wallenkamp said. “All the sites in our eyes equal out in cost.”
Board members did not engage in much discussion of the options after the presentation. Trustee Sharon Bowers did question the proposed size of the building.
Wallenkamp said that the size reflected not only accommodating current use but also projecting out as much as 30 years.
Trustee Kevin Fitzgerald mentioned holding a future public meeting where pros and cons of the various sites could be laid out for the public.
The board first started considering whether to rehab the current village hall or construct a new building in spring 2018. In September, the board hired Kueny to design a new building.
