Fox River level dropping slowly

The Fox River as measured at the New Munster gauge appears to be on a very slow retreat from a crest reached earlier this week.

The river slipped under flood stage of 11 feet very early Wednesday morning. As of 5 p.m., Friday it was at 10.4 feet.

The current National Weather Service forecast for the the Fox River calls for the river to finally get under 10 feet until Wednesday.
