Snow update: 1.5 inches overnight

At about 7:30 a.m., Thursday, we measured 1.5 inches of snow at headquarters in Paddock Lake since snow began falling last night.

Were you dreaming of a white Halloween?

The degree to which snow is sticking is varying by surface, but the above measurement came from our snowiest measuring spot.

The latest, local National Weather Service forecast calls for a bit more snow than was in earlier forecasts. We could now see from 3 to 6 inches of snow before snow stops this afternoon — just before trick or treat time in Paddock Lake, Salem Lakes, Twin Lakes and Randall (Bristol rescheduled trick or treat to Saturday).

A winter weather advisory remains in effect.
