The Central High School Marching Falcons band marched in the 2019 Chicago Columbus Day Parade Monday.

This is the band’s 10th year marching in the parade.

Here is a link to video of a Chicago TV station’s coverage of the parade. Central appears at the 8:55 mark in part three. (You can fast forward through part two and then part three will start. Then you can fast forward to 8:55 to see Central). Central was the first high school marching band appearing so they explain a contest the parade is holding this year (see below) while Central marches by so they get a lot of screen time. One of the announcers butchers the pronunciation of Westosha, but the others get it right.

If you liked that performance, you can help the Central band earn some money for its program. The committee that runs the parade is running an internet contest that will select the most popular band entry. Voting is here and is open until Oct. 20. The winner will receive $2,000.
