Bristol Deputy David Gomez honored with 2019 First Responder of the Year Award for 61st Assembly Dist.

State Rep. Samantha Kerkman (R-Salem Lakes) presented the First Responder of the Year Award for the 61st Assembly District to Kenosha County Sheriff’s Deputy David Gomez at a ceremony in Madison on Thursday.

Gomez joined 79 other first responders at the State Capitol to receive this award and be honored by the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Deputy Gomez has served the department for 14 years and is assigned to patrol the village of Bristol.  Village of Bristol Fire Chief John Niederer nominated Gomez for this award.

Said Kerkman:

We owe a debt of gratitude to our first responders who keep us safe every day. I am pleased to honor Deputy Gomez today for doing just that.  He does not hesitate to assist Village of Bristol staff and residents in times of need and does it with professionalism and a positive attitude.  He has also helped numerous individuals who would not have survived without his assistance.  It is first responders like Deputy Gomez who help make Kenosha County a safe place to live.  That’s why I selected him as the First Responder of the Year for the 61st Assembly District.”
