Units responding for crash in Powers Lake

At about 7:33 a.m., Randall Fire Department and Twin Lakes Rescue units, sheriff’s deputies and a Twin Lakes Police officer are responding to a report of a crash in the 8800 block of 388th Avenue in Powers Lake.

Per dispatch: A pick-up truck appears to have rear-ended a stopped school bus. Students are on the bus. Truck is leaking fluid.

UPDATE about 7:38 a.m. — Unit at the scene reports fluid appears to be engine coolant. Scene is blocking the roadway. Emergency personnel at the scene reports bus driver would like to be checked out for injuries and no apparent injuries to students.

UPDATE 7:58 a.m. — Richmond Fire and Rescue requested to respond to the scene with an ambulance.

UPDATE about 8:10 a.m. — Tow truck requested for pick-up truck.

UPDATE 8:17 a.m. — Deputy reports to dispatch that neither bus driver nor any students are being transported to a hospital for treatment.

UPDATE 8:38 a.m. — Deputy reports to dispatch that battery box of truck is now on fire.
