Flash flood watch issued

As it strong rain starts in Paddock Lake at about 2 p.m., it seems like I should mention that the National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Kenosha County.

That watch is set to be in effect through 10 a.m., Wednesday.

Says the NWS: A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is “a rapid flooding of low-lying areas: washes, rivers, dry lakes and depressions” typically brough on by heavy rain, says Wikipedia.

We are supposed to get some heavy rain. The NWS says we could see 1.75 inches through Thursday morning.
