The contest had 22 contestants sign up, ranging in age from PreK to 6th grade. There were 3 separate age divisions. All of the girls entered bios which consisted of their grades at school, information about their families and what community activities they are involved in.
“Each girl was so unique!” said Jill Gillmore, who directed the pageant.
Contestants were judged on their bios, their confidence, standing tall, having eye contact, smiling, and their community involvement. There were five judges.
“A big thank you to the families who brought their daughters out to participate in this year’s event,” Gillmore said. “All of the girls did an amazing job and we are so very proud of their efforts and community involvement! We hope they were inspired and encouraged to be the best they can be.”
All of the prizes, banners, crowns, and trophies were donated by OakVue Farm and Events. This pageant was completely run by women and volunteers from all over the US, Gillmore said.
