Lockdown lifted at Salem School

A written threat found inside a bathroom caused Salem School to be on lockdown for about two hours Wednesday morning.

The threat was reported to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department at about 9:35 a.m., Sgt. Chris Hannah, public information officer said.

The K-8 school was immediately placed on lockdown, Hannah said, and deputies responded to the scene.

Deputies investigated inside and outside the building, Hannah said. By 11:30 a.m., it was determined that there was no imminent danger and the lockdown was lifted.

A deputy remains on the scene at the school, Hannah said.
