Aug. 20, 2019 lake test results: DeWitt Park beach closed and Paddock Hooker Lakes Association beach under caution

DeWitt Park Beach on Silver Lake is closed to swimming and Paddock Hooker Lakes Association beach on Paddock Lake is on a swim caution after water tests on Monday showed elevated levels of E.coli there.

The State Department of Health recommends posting warnings at beaches when the test results indicate a E.coli level of 235/100mL or more and closing a beach when test results exceed E.coli 1000/100mL.

The test results that produced the closure and caution were:

  • DeWitt Park beach on Silver Lake — 1,986 E.coli/100 mL
  • PHLA on Paddock Lake — 649 E.coli/100 mL

The above locations are set to be resampled Tuesday.
