Salem Lakes appoints administrator and clerk

A couple of key Salem Lakes village staff positions that have had interim people in place are now filled more permanently.

The Salem Lakes Village Board appointed Mike Murdock village administrator three weeks ago and Shannon Hahn village clerk last week, village President Diann Tesar said Wednesday.

Murdock, who had been the village’s Highway Department superintendent, succeeds Patrick Casey, who resigned his position for another job. His last day with Salem Lakes was in September 2018. Murdock had been appointed interim administrator shortly after Casey’s departure.

Hahn has previously worked for the village and the town of Salem as administrative assistant to the building department and deputy clerk. She had been serving as interim clerk since January, when the board terminated the employment of former town Clerk CIndi Dulaney for unspecified reasons.
