July 31, 2019 lake test results: Paddock Hooker Lakes Association closed, DeWitt Park beach on caution

Paddock Hooker Lakes Association beach on Paddock Lake is closed and DeWitt Park Beach on Silver Lake is under swim caution after tests Tuesday showed elevated levels of E.coli there.

The State Department of Health recommends posting warnings at beaches when test results indicate an E.coli level of 235/100mL or more and closing a beach when test results exceed E.coli 1000/100mL.

The results prompting he closure and caution are:

  • PHLA: 1,120 E.coli/100 mL.
  • DeWitt Park Beach:  866 E.coli/100 mL.

Both of these spots are expected to be retested Wednesday.
