Still hot; storms now more likely

Saturday’s forecast is still hot enough for the National Weather Service to keep an excessive heat warning in effect for Saturday.

The warning is now set to be in effect until 8 p.m., Saturday. The high temperature Saturday is expected to reach 92 with a heat index of 107 possible.

Newer to the latest, local NWS forecast is a stronger likelihood of a thunderstorm.

There is now a 60 percent chance of rain between 4 p.m., Saturday and noon, Sunday with a thunderstorm most likely between 4 and 6 p.m., Saturday.

Temperatures are expected to cool off quite a bit after today, with highs Sunday and Monday below 80.
