Salem Lakes Fire/Rescue Station No. 2 opened as cooling center

Salem Lakes is opening Fire Station No. 2 in Salem as cooling center during the current hot weather.

Fire Station No. 2 is located at 8339 Antioch Road, Salem. The cooling center hours of operation are: noon, Friday, July 19, through Saturday, July 20,
or until the center determined to be not needed .

The decision to open the addtional cooling center was made after consultation with Kenosha County Emergency Management, a news release distributed by the fire department said.

The cooling center will be open until 6 p.m.. Residents not in a cooling center who would like to access the cooling center at the Station No. 2 after 6 p.m. are asked to call the duty phone number 262-620-3880. Residents are asked to enter through the rear of the fire station, on the south side of the building parking lot off of 84th Street. For the correct door to enter through, please look for the orange traffic cones. Please be sure to bring medications, mobility devices, or other personal need items. Only service animals will be allowed to enter the cooling center at this time. No pets please…

If there any resident or visitor is in the cooling center, it will not be closed, said fire Chief Mike Slover.
