Paddock Lake officials checking on residents during heat

If you have a loved one in Paddock Lake that is vulnerable to problems with the heat, you will be glad know village officials are looking out for them.

Village board members and staff  will be calling and stopping by village residents during the heat to check on residents that may be at risk due to the heat, said village administrator Tim Popanda.

“The village has historically maintained a list of known residents that are aged or possibly at risk from not only heat, but extreme cold,” Popanda said.

The list consist of 109 households and 192 residents. The protocol is for staff or trustees to call or stop at the residents homes for a series of quick questions. They will be asking if the home is cool, if they need anything and also to direct them to Kenosha County services if necessary.
