Rain, then heat

Western Kenosha County should see some stormy weather before the hot weather we have all been anticipating.

There’s an 80 percent chance of a thunderstorm before noon, Thursday. Radar at 5:21 a.m. shows a large storm system bearing down on our area from the west.

After the rain it will be time to consider the thermometer. Temperatures should begin to rise sharply in the early afternoon reaching the high 80s with heat index values in the mid 90s. Thursday night’s low temperature will be a warm 78.

The heat will be worse on Friday, with a high of 96 and a possibility of a heat index as high as 111.

A heat advisory remains in effect from noon Thursday to 11 p.m. Friday.

Saturday will still be hot, just not as extreme with a high of 90. There also will be a 40 percent chance of a thunderstorm.

The real cool off will come Sunday, when the high will reach just 82. High temperatures are expected to continue in the low 80s through Wednesday.
