Power outage update

At about 23 hours after the outage began there are still about 1,500 households out of power in Western Kenosha County..

Most of those households are in Paddock Lake, where We Energies says there at 880 households out of power, roughly half of the utilities customers there. In Salem, there are 76 households out of service, with under 15 households each in Brighton, Bristol and Paris.

At about 4:30 p.m., Paddock Lake village President Terry Burns said he was told by We Energies that power is expected to be restored in the village by 6 p.m.

We Energies is currently attributing the outage to an equipment problem.

UPDATE about 5:17 p.m. — Power back on less than 30 minutes from 24 hours.
