The Fox River as measured at the New Munster Gauge is slowly receding, but remains above flood stage Tuesday.
At 3 p.m., the river was at 11.68 feet. At 3 p.m., Monday, it was at 11.84. Flood stage is 11 feet.
A National Weather Service flood warning remains in effect.
There is more rain in the latest, local National Weather Service forecast. There’s an 80 percent chance of rain Tuesday night, a 30 percent chance of rain Wednesday, a 20 percent chance of rain Wednesday night and a 50 percent chance of rain Thursday. Thursday night and Friday should be dry, but rain may pickup again Friday night and Saturday.
