The sacrifice of members of the United States military who gave their lives while serving the country was remembered in Silver Lake Monday with the annual parade and ceremony.

The parade stepped off at 9 a.m. Here is video of the marching bands in the parade from Central High School, Riverview School, Wilmot Union High School and Wheatland Center School:
After the parade, a ceremony was held outside the American Legion. Speakers offered prayers and spoke of the meaning of Memorial Day. A wreath was laid and there was a gun salute.
