2019 Law Enforcement Memorial ceremony coverage (VIDEO)

The ultimate sacrifice of members of law enforcement in Kenosha County was remembered in a ceremony in Kenosha Wednesday.

Wet weather moved the ceremony inside the Kenosha Public Museum, which is adjacent to the Law Enforcement Memorial.

Representatives of Kenosha County’s law enforcement agencies — the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department, Twin Lakes Police Department, Kenosha Police Department, Pleasant Prairie Police Department and University of Wisconsin-Parkside Police Department — participated.

A special focus of this year’s ceremony was recognizing the 100th anniversary of the death of Kenosha Police Officer Antonio Pingitore, who was killed in the line of duty in 1919.

James Pingitore, grandson of Antonio, served as this year’s keynote speaker. Here is video of his remarks about his grandfather and the circumstances of his death:
