Paddock Lake government officials and residents — with a big assist from some Cub Scouts — celebrated trees and Arbor Day on Saturday.
As part of the festivities, the village was recognized as a Tree City USA. This was the 20th year in a row the village has earned this designation.

Then those attending headed outside and planted a autumn blaze maple, with Cub Pack 328 and their siblings leading the shoveling.

Everyone was able to go home with either a Colorado blue spruce or a white pine sapling.
