Children’s Book Drive to benefit Friends of the Community Library is underway until April 24

A children’s book drive to benefit the Friends of the Community Library is underway.

Books collected are donated to the friends, and are then sold at the group’s book sales in Twin Lakes.

The children’s book drive was started last year by Amee Janus, the vice president of the Community Library Board of Trustees.

“I started this due to the lack of children’s books at these sales,” Janus said. “Reading is extremely important to me and should be encouraged to all children, including my own; that is the main reason I serve on the Community Library Board of Trustees.”

The money earned at these book sales is given to the Community Library to fund programs that are offered for free to adults and children in our community.

Drop off points for children’s books are: Salem Grade School, Trevor-Wilmot Grade School, Riverview School, Bristol School and Salem Lakes Village Hall.

The drive continues through April 24.
