Fox River receding; flood warning remains in effect

It appears the Fox River is now receding after reaching a crest of 13.38 feet Friday evening as measured at the New Munster Gauge.

At 10 a.m., Saturday the river was measuring at 13.22 feet.

Friday’s mark is the seventh highest historic crest recorded at the New Munster Gauge.

Flood stage is 11 feet. A flood warning remains in effect.

The latest, local NWS weather forecast has no substantial chance of rain in the next seven days (there is a 20 percent chance of rain/snow showers Tuesday night), which should help bring the river down.
