Fox River rising sharply; flood warning continues

The Fox River, true to its forecast, is rising fast, having increased 1.47 feet in about the last 24 hours.

At 2 p.m., the river as measured at the New Munster gauge is at 12.49 feet. Flood stage is 11 feet, which was reached Wednesday afternoon.

A National Weather Service flood warning remains in effect.

The current NWS forecast calls for the river to crest at 14.5 feet. If reached, that would tie for the fourth highest crest on record.
