Flood watch issued for Fox River

A flood watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for the Fox River in Western Kenosha County.

The river is expected to rise rapidly starting Wednesday afternoon, cresting at 14.9 feet Saturday morning. If that level is reached, it would be the third highest crest recorded and the highest since the record crest of July 2017, according to the NWS.

At 3 p.m. Tuesday, the river is at 9.39 feet. Flood stage of 11 feet is expected to be reached by very early Thursday morning.

Expected rain and mild temperatures resulting in snow melt are driving the river rise.
