Fox River up and down just under flood stage

The level of the Fox River has been up and down over the past 48 hours or so as measured by the National Weather Service New Munster gauge.

That mild roller coaster effect is happening just below official flood stage of 100 feet. The official flood stage is 11 feet. The highest level in the last couple of days is 10.97 feet, recorded at 11:30 p.m., Monday night. At 10:15 a.m., Tuesday, the river was at 10.67 feet. At 4 p.m., the river was back on the rise at 10.72 feet.

Meanwhile, a NWS flood warning has been pulled.
