Sheriff’s Tactical Response Team  and Crisis Negotiations Unit respond to early morning incident in Trevor

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an incident from early this morning that required the deployment of the Tactical Response Team and Crisis Negotiations Unit.

Sheriff’s Department officials say the incident was isolated and does not pose a danger to the public.

From a new release distributed at 10:50 a.m.:

Today, February 8, 2019, at approximately 12:16 AM Deputies from the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single family residence in the 12200 block of 280th Avenue for a reported battery complaint. Upon arrival, Deputies found a partially clothed female who reported an assault at a nearby residence in which a weapon was alleged to be involved. Deputies attempted to make contact at the residence and received no response. The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department Tactical Response Team was requested to assist at the scene. The Sheriff’s Mobile Command vehicle was also activated. Negotiators from the Crisis Negotiations Unit made multiple attempts to communicate with the alleged suspect via telephone and public address system to no success until approximately 4:00 AM when communications were established.  Dialogues continued with the subject inside of the residence for approximately one hour until a peaceful surrender was negotiated.  The female victim was treated for her injuries and later released at a local hospital. Names are being withheld at this time. This was an isolated incident, and there is no danger to the public. This incident remains under investigation.
