Winter storm warning issued

Kenosha County has joined the rest of the region and has been added to the National Weather Service’s current winter storm warning.

Says the warning’s text:

Periods of light freezing drizzle and rain, mixed at times with snow, gradually transitioning to all snow late this afternoon and evening. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 8 inches and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch are expected. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute today and especially the morning commute on Wednesday. A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet and ice will make travel very hazardous or impossible.”

Activities at schools are beginning to be cancelled for this evening.
