Rep. Kerkman to return as Assembly chair of Joint Legislative Audit Committee

State Rep. Samantha Kerkman, whose district includes most of Western Kenosha County, will return to the Assembly chairmanship of the Joint Legislative Audit Committee:

State Rep. Samantha Kerkman (R-Salem Lakes) has been re-appointed Assembly Chair for the Joint Legislative Audit Committee. Rep. Kerkman has served continuously on the Joint Audit Committee since she was first elected and the 2019-2020 Legislative Session will be her fifth term as Co-chair. “I am honored and pleased to continue as Co-chair of the Joint Legislative Audit Committee,” said Rep. Kerkman. “Members of Joint Audit are fortunate to engage in oversight of and explore improvements for a wide-range of policy areas and I look forward to leading the Committee in its duties.” The Joint Legislative Audit Committee is responsible for directing the State Auditor and the non-partisan Legislative Audit Bureau (LAB) to conduct specific audits as well as consider special audit requests from individual legislators and standing committees. The Joint Audit Committee reviews and holds hearings on audit reports from the Legislative Audit Bureau, confers with others on the report findings, directs follow-up reports be submitted to the Committee, and may proposed corrective action in the form of legislation.
