UPDATE: Woman dies in crash in Twin Lakes

A Crystal Lake, Ill. woman died in a crash at Highway P (388th Avenue) and Highway O (Richmond Road/Lance Drive) in Twin Lakes Thursday afternoon.

From a media release from the Twin Lakes Police Department:

At 1:25 pm on Thursday, 11115/2018 Twin Lakes Police and Twin Lakes Fire/Rescue responded to the intersection of Richmond Road and 388t Avenue located in the Village of Twin Lakes for a collision between two vehicles. Drivers and witnesses at the scene advised a car, driven by an 85-year-old male from Crystal Lake, lL was traveling southbound on 388th Avenue approaching the intersection at Richmond Road. Road conditions at the time were snow covered and slippery. The vehicle slid into the intersection at Richmond Road was struck in the passenger side by a large garbage truck which was travelling east-bound on Richmond Road. Prior to the arrival of emergency services, witnesses on scene began performing CPR on an 83-year-old female passenger of the car. She was also from Crystal Lake, IL. The female passenger was later pronounced dead at the scene. The 85-year old male driver of the car was transported to NIMC Hospital in McHenry, IL with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the truck was a 56-year old male from Muskego, WI. He was not injured. The Twin Lakes Police Department is continuing to investigate this incident. At this time, it appears road conditions were a factor in this crash. No names are being released at this time.
