The Wheatland town electors and Town Board approved a tax levy for 2019 that is less than 1 percent higher than 2018.
The levy and budget including the levy were approved by unanimous votes of the electors and Town Board Monday evening.
The levy for 2019 was set at $677, 814. That is $5,113 or .76 percent more than the 2018 levy of $672,701.
Besides the levy, electors also unanimously approved a resolution to establish elected officials salaries that included a 3 percent increase in pay for the town clerk and town treasurer in 2019 and an additional 3 percent in 2020.
There will be no change in the pay of the town chairman, town supervisors, municipal judge and constable.
Town Chairman Bill Glembocki said the town clerk and treasurer have not had a pay increase in 10 years.
