Bristol passes flat tax levy for 2019

The Bristol Village Board has approved a 2019 property tax levy nearly identical to 2018.

The levy was approved 4-0 with Trustee Carolyn Owens absent at a Village Board meeting Monday.

The total approved 2019 levy for general fund, fire and rescue and equipment replacement was $1,739,047, as compared to $1,736,316 for 2018. That amounts to an increase of $2,731 or a .16 percent increase.

The resulting tax rate is estimated to be 3.1990/$1,000 of assessed value, the same as 2018 and virtually the same as 2017 and 2016 as well.

That means if your property’s assessed value has not changed the village portion of your property tax bill should be flat from 2018. If your assessed value has changed your tax will change too.

“We can be proud to talk to our constituents and the media that we have kept this under control,” said village President Mike Farrell.
