Fox River drops below flood stage

The Fox River as measured at the New Munster gauge has dropped below flood stage.

At 7 a.m., the river was at 10.98 feet. Flood stage is 11 feet.

A National Weather Service flood warning remains in effect, at least for now. It was last updated at 3 a.m., when the river was still over flood stage.

The receding trend should continue, with the only precipitation in the seven-day forecast being a 20 percent chance of rain — or maybe snow — showers Saturday night.
