Brighton School hosted a stop during the 2018 Old Glory Relay on Monday.

The Old Glory Relay started its journey on Sept. 11, 2018 in Boston. Multiple relay teams will carry the flag across the country, ending in San Diego on Veterans Day.  The relay is a project of Team Red, White and Blue, a nonprofit that aims to enrich the lives of America’s Veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.

Team RWB rolled into the school parking lot around 9:45 a.m. and the Brighton Stars cheered them on with gusto. Amid wild cheers and chants of U S A, the flag was handed over to a second rider of the relay in the school parking lot.  This leg of the relay began at Harbor Park in Kenosha and was headed towards Madison.

Students and staff alike enjoyed meeting team members and exchanging high fives with all the participants.
