The Fox River has topped 12 feet as measured at the New Munster gauge and is still on the rise.
At 5 a.m., the river measured at 12.18 feet. A National Weather Service flood warning remains in effect.
A crest of 13.1 feet is forecast for the very early hours of Friday morning.
