The 8th Annual Old Settlers Oktoberfest took place Saturday at Old Settlers County Park in Paddock Lake.

Old Settlers Oktoberfest is sponsored by Old Settlers Oktoberfest Inc., County Executive Jim Kreuser and the Kenosha County Division of Parks. Proceeds from the event support the construction of a band shelter within Old Settlers Park.

The event featured a variety of fun activities for all ages including German music and dancing, dachshund races, a classic car show, kids activities, a stein hoisting, food and beer. The day started with a 5K and fun run.

The Dachshund Dash featured a new champion, with the defending champion of every previous dash, Ellie, retiring.  Jackie and Steven Pacheco’s  Chewbacca took first, and Marla and Terry Yarbrough’s Kirby placed second. Kirby also had placed second to Ellie in the past.
