At about 11:35 a.m., Salem Lakes Fire/Rescue and Bristol Fire and Rescue units and sheriff’s deputies are responding for a report of a fire in the 6100 block of 243rd Avenue in Paddock Lake.
Per dispatch: Fire may relate to work being done on stairs. Occupants have evacuated.
UPDATE 11:39 a.m. — Dispatch reports to responding units that deputies on the scene reporting flames visible.
UPDATE 11:43 a.m. — Fire unit arriving on scene reports light smoke coming from the back of the building.
UPDATE about 12:11 p.m. — Incident command reports fire is out and overhaul almost finished. We Energies gas crew on scene. Command says response from We Energies electric crew not needed.
