Work by power utility We Energies will cause a planned electricity outage starting this Sunday.
The outage is for areas neighboring Highway 50 (Geneva Road) in Salem Lakes.
Neighborhoods affected include Shoreview, Fox River First Addition, Fox River Dells and North Silver Lake Estates, according to village officials.
The outage will begin about 11:30 p.m. Sunday and last until 6 a.m. Monday.
In the case of inclement weather, the utility will attempt to move the planned outage to 11:30 p.m., Monday to 6 a.m., Tuesday.
The outage is part of upgrades being done to power in the area, said a letter to the village from We Energies.
“In order for our crews to work safely and efficiently, it is necessary to interrupt the electric service …” the letter aid.
We asks people who plan to use generators during the outage to contact them before operating it to ensure safety for the utility crews. Phone is 414-944-5906.
