Paddock Hooker Lake Association beach on Paddock Lake is under a swim caution after testing on Tuesday showed elevated E.coli levels in those locations.

Cautions are issued for results of more than 235 E.coli/100 mL. Beaches are closed to swimming for a test result of more than 1,000 E.coli/100 mL.

Tuesday’s result at PHLA on Paddock Lake was 387 E.coli/100 mL. That location was expected to be re-sampled Wednesday.

Full results reported Aug. 8, 2018 by the Kenosha County Division of Health were:

  • Randall — Powers Lake, 178 E.coli/100 mL (reported by town of Randall).
  • Salem Lakes — Lake Shangri-la #1, 36 E.coli/100 mL; Lake Shangri La #2: 2 E.coli/100 mL.
  • Paddock Lake — Old Settlers County Park beach, 14 E.coli/100 mL; North Shore Beach Association, 4 E.coli/100 mL; Hoag Beach, 3 E.coli/100 mL; Paddock-Hooker Lake Association Beach on Paddock Lake, 387 E.coli/100 mL; Paddock-Hooker Lake Association Beach (diving board area in channel), 11 E.coli/100 mL.
  • Twin Lakes — On Lake Elizabeth: Sunset, 6 E.coli/100 mL; Lucille, 17 E.coli/100 mL; Musial, 19 E.coli/100 mL.
  • Bristol — Lake George (101st), 152 E.coli/100 mL; Lake George (103rd), 11 E.coli/100 mL.

Along with the re-sampling of PHLA, Silver Lake, Lily Lake, Camp, Center, and Rock lakes will be sampled Wednesday for their weekly check.

The State Department of Health recommends posting warnings at beaches when the test results indicate a E.coli level of 300/100ml or more and closing a beach when test results exceed E.coli 1000/100ml. Wheatland (Lilly Lake) has a policy of posting an advisory for a level of E.coli 235/100 mL or more and closing a beach when test results exceed E.coli 1000/100ml.
