2018 Western Kenosha County Tennis Association Rally for Life is July 27 & 28

The 5th Annual Rally For Life,  a 24- hour tennis rally with proceeds to benefit The American Cancer Society of Kenosha County and The Sharing Center, will take place this weekend.

Rally For Life is a project of the Western Kenosha County Tennis Association.

The rally will begin on Friday, July 27  at 1 p.m. and runs through 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, at the Central High School Tennis Courts.

Event goals are:

  • Raise funds for the American Cancer Society of Kenosha County.
  • Collect “back to school” items for the Sharing Center.
  • Keep a tennis ball going back and forth over the net for 24 hours .

Here is a schedule for the event:

Friday, July 27

  • 1-2 p.m. — Opening Ceremony:  Open to everyone and we’d like to see some Cancer Survivors out on the courts to start the 24-hour Rally.
  • 2-4:30 p.m. — High School Camp Tournament.  Open to those high-school players who are participating in the week-long camp.
  • 4:30 to 6 p.m. — Practice session for the 11-14 year old tournament which is being  held on Sat. July 28.  Open to those enrolled in the tournament.
  • 4:30 to 8 p.m. — Open hitting on a few courts. Open to all ages.
  • 6 to 8 p.m. — Tennis Carnival.  Open to ages 2-14.  Come out and use the skills you’ve learned to play some tennis themed activities and win some prizes. Bring your donation sheet if you’ve collected money.
  • 8 to 10 p.m. — Doubles Champ.  Open to all.  No Partner, no problem.  If you are under 16 we ask that an adult be with you.
  • 9 p.m. — Pizza.
  • 10 p.m. to midnight — “31” Doubles.  Same restrictions as Doubles Champ.
  • Midnight to 7 a.m. — Open hitting under the stars.  Open to those 18 and older.  Take your turn at keeping the Rally going.  Brings your sleeping bags, tents, cots and music. Enjoy the campfire.  Anyone under 18 must submit a signed parental permission slip.  Anyone under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Saturday, July 28

  • 7-9 a.m. — Adult Open Hitting.  Open to those 18 and older.
  • 9 a.m.-1 p.m. — 11-14 Year old tournament.  Open to those registered.  Join our friends from  Racine.
  • 12:30-1 p.m. — Closing Ceremony.
