Randall School hosts 2018 Modern Woodmen Speech Contest

Randall School hosted the 2018 Modern Woodmen Speech Contest on May 11.

This year’s theme was:  Inventions that have improve the quality of life.

Students from 5 area schools, who had placed first or second in their school speech contests, qualified to move to this level.  Schools this year included: Trevor-Wilmot School, Washington-Caldwell School, Randall School, All-Saints School North and All-Saints School South.

Judges for this event included:  Jared Hedges, Community Library Youth Services; Kim Kleich, GT teacher; and Suzanne Apostal, Business Office Bookkeeper.

First, second and third places received trophies, with the first place winner also receiving a $50 cash prize from Modern Woodmen:

  • 1st place: Mary Catherine Slagle, gr. 7 Trevor-Wilmot School.
  • 2nd place: Jonathan Rinaldi, gr. 5, All-Saints South.
  • 3rd place: Ava Murawski, gr. 8, All-Saints North.
