Twin Lakes PD arrests Illinois man on suspicion of sexual exploitation of a child

Twin Lakes Police officers on Friday arrested an Illinois man they allege was seeking to sexually exploit a local teen-aged girl.

Charges have not been formalized and the man’s identity has not been released.

From a news release issued by the Chief Adam Grosz on Monday:

On Friday, July 6th, 2018 at approximately 4:25 p.m. Twin Lakes Police Officers took a 41 -year old Harvard, IL man into custody on suspicion of Sexual Exploitation of a Child and multiple other crimes. On July 3rd , 2018 a Twin Lakes Detective was notified by a McHenry County Illinois Sheriffs Detective that they received information that a 41-year old male from Harvard, IL had been communicating with a 15-year old female from Twin Lakes via cell phone. The information given to police was that the communication between the two was sexual in nature. Further investigation revealed that the suspect and the 15-year old victim had been exchanging messages and pictures that were sexual in nature on various cell phone apps. The two had agreed to meet in person for the purpose of engaging in a sexual encounter. After becoming aware of the information, a Twin Lakes Detective, along with detectives from McHenry County arranged for the suspect to drive to Twin Lakes for what he thought was a meeting with the 15-year old. As the suspect arrived at Lance Park in Twin Lakes on July 6, he was taken into custody by Twin Lakes Police without incident. He was transported to the Kenosha County Jail. A request for criminal charges has been submitted to the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office.”
