Twin Lakes swears in new police sergeants

Two Twin Lakes Police Department officers were sworn in as sergeants at the Twin Lakes Village Board meeting Monday.

The two sergeant positions are the result of a restructuring of the department’s supervisory structure, introduced to the board by Chief Adam Grosz in April.

Sworn in  by village administrator Jennifer Frederick were Sgt. Robert Dzbinski and Sgt. Dan  Gavahan. Both promoted officers were already on the Twin Lakes force. Patrol officers will not be hired to replace them in their former roles.

Formerly, the department had lieutenants, who were mostly administrators. What there is a greater need for, Grosz has said, is on the street supervisors who can make informed decisions. The new sergeants will work second and third shift, when Grosz and Capt. Dennis Linn are typically off duty.
