Hot weather on its way; heat advisory issued for Friday, Saturday

A run of much hotter weather begins Thursday and will still be with us by the Fourth of July holiday, says the latest, local National Weather Service forecast.

The peak of the mini heat wave will be Friday and Saturday, when high temperatures are expected to top 90 degrees. A heat advisory has been issued by the NWS from noon on Friday through 7 p.m., Saturday. The heat index on Friday may be as high as 105.

High temperatures are expected to remain in the mid to high 80s through the Fourth of July.
