Fox River level holding steady; flood warning continues

The level of the Fox River as measured at the National Weather Service New Munster Gauge seems to be hold steady at about 11.6 feet.

The river first arrived at about 11.6 very early Thursday morning. It has fluctuated a few hundredths of a foot up at times, but has been basically flat since then.

The latest reading as of this writing was 11.61 feet at 6 a.m., Saturday. Crest was 11.69 feet, reached Friday evening. Flood stage is 11 feet.

With no rain in the NWS forecast for Saturday and Sunday, the river forecast calls for a sharp decrease starting soon and the river being back under flood stage by Sunday afternoon.

A flood warning remains in effect.
