Road work to close portions of Highways EM and MB starting this week

Two Western Kenosha County highways are scheduled to close this week for road work, the county Division of Highways has announced.

From a news release distributed Monday by the county:

In the Village of Twin Lakes, Highway EM (East Lakeshore Drive) is scheduled to be closed Tuesday and Wednesday for paving of the gutter. This improvement is being made to help solve drainage issues, said Kenosha County Highway Director Clement Abongwa. Drivers are encouraged to detour around Highway EM via highways Z (Wilmot Avenue), HM (Wilmot Road/374th Avenue) and CK (Stateline Road). Other closures this week: — Highway MB (136th Avenue) will be closed Wednesday between highways A (Seventh Street) and E (12th Street) in the Town of Paris for culvert replacement work. Traffic will be diverted onto the Interstate 94 East Frontage Road.  Highway EA (72nd Avenue) will be closed Thursday between highways L (18th Street) and S (38th Street) in the Village of Somers, also for culvert work. Note: All closures are weather dependent and subject to change.
