Could have been prevented if Salem didn’t prevent the roundabout. Studies have shown that roundabouts are safer than traditional stop sign or signal-controlled intersections. Roundabouts reduced injury crashes by 75 percent at intersections where stop signs or signals were previously used for traffic control, according to a study by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

Could have been avoided if people pay attention!

With that logic they should go everywhere.

Put one at 50 & 75 in front of the Walgreens.

    45 & 50. JF & 83

C & 45. This one was voted down by Bristol.

    Where do you stop?

    1. For what it’s worth, roundabouts have been on some scale proposed for Hwys 50 & 75/83, Hwys 50 & 45 and Hway 45 & 50, before being nixed. I’m not saying they got very far in some of those locations but I at least heard them raised in official proceedings as a possibility. As to where do you stop, why stop if they do the job? Where have we stopped with the traffic signals? The best example I can think of is the Hwys C and MB intersection, an infamous location for severe crashes for a long time. Now, severe crashes don’t happen there. I know people who were dead set against that roundabout, who now praise it for that reason. It worked.
