Central HS band students headed to state solo & ensemble festival

Fifty five Central High School band students performing in 19 band events are headed to state solo & ensemble in May after qualifying March 3 in district festival held at Central.

Large groups earning the top rating and heading to state from Central were Jazz Central, Flute Choir, Saxophone Choir and Percussion Ensemble. Other students earned the trip to state with top rating performances in various solos, duets, and trios.

“I was very pleased with the hard work and effort that the students put into preparing themselves for their performances,” said Adam Scheele, Central HS band director.  “Their hard work and dedication paid off. It was a great day for the Central High School music department.”

State solo & ensemble will take place May 5 at University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Somers.

Solo & ensemble is sanctioned by the Wisconsin State Music Association.
